What is Agent Protocol?

PreviousIntroductionNextBackground on AI Agents

Last updated 8 months ago

Agent Protocol is the payment layer for AI agents. We help AI agent developers enable their autonomous AIs to transact so they can pay for things like software, content, fine-tuned models, and other AI agents.

Who does Agent Protocol work for?

Agent Protocol is a SDK for AI agent developers to build with, regardless of their AI agent architecture, and whether their agents are onchain, offchain, or both. We are to AI agents what Stripe has been to e-commerce: an interoperable payment layer that works with almost every type of architecture.

What parts of the payment stack does Agent Protocol help with?

Agent Protocol is positioned to be the end-to-end stack for AI agent payments. Most critically, we help with provisioning funds to agents & executing transactions (in fiat & crypto). But we also are building tooling for the relationship & communication between agents & vendors (e.g. vendor selection, fraud prevention, investigating purchase issues), as well as vendor-side to tooling to help vendors collect payments from AI agents.
